Launched in 1996 and extensively refitted in
2006, MY Galaxy I is a 26 metre luxury superyacht based in the stunningly
beautiful area that is Tropical North Queensland.
Sleek, sophisticated and superbly appointed, Galaxy I is designed for
indulgence and will satisfy even the most discerning traveller.
Permanently berthed in Port Douglas, Galaxy I is available for a maximum
of 12 people for day charters to the Great Barrier Reef.
First impressions of Galaxy I are of lovely lines, polished timbers
and chrome. Custom-built by Precision Marine, she has a cruising speed
of 12 knots and a range of 1175km which makes Galaxy I perfect for exploring
the multitude of different reefs and islands that make up the extraordinary
Great Barrier Reef.
Designed with the comfort of her passengers in mind, Galaxy I has been
fitted with Niad stabilisers to ensure her capability in the seas of
Tropical North Queensland.
Interior highlights are of rich textures and materials intended to accompany
features that have been specifically designed to embrace the environment
of the Tropical North. All interior areas are air conditioned and the
rear saloon deck can be enclosed for air conditioning as well. Flat
screen TVs, DVD players with a full library, and a surround sound stereo
system ensure that creature comforts are never far away.
Galaxy I is fitted with the latest in technology in terms of navigation
and communications and is fully equipped for safely cruising the waters
of the Great Barrier Reef. Her 60hp tender will ensure access to all
areas.

Captain Nick Atkinson
Nick has over 20 years marine experience. For the past 12 years, Nick has worked as Chief Engineer on some of the world’s most prestigious and technologically advanced superyachts.
Nick has undertaken the arduous trans-atlantic and trans-pacific sea
routes on numerous occasions. He is also experienced cruising the Mediterranean,
South Pacific, the east coast of the USA, the Caribbean and the South
Pacific. His wide-ranging experience and skill has made him a competent
Captain and Engineer earning him respect in the industry.

Low Isles Itinerary (Full Day)

A day’s journey to one of the jewels of the Great Barrier Reef, the
coral cay island of Low Isles. Situated just 1 hours cruising from Port
Douglas, Low Isles is enchanting. Fringing coral reefs, sandy beaches
and tropical rainforest combine to offer a very relaxing encounter with
the Great Barrier Reef. Relax aboard Galaxy I as the crew serves lunch
or take a leisurely stroll around Low Isles. No trip to the Great Barrier
Reef is complete without seeing the kaleidoscope of colour below the
water’s surface and Galaxy I’s crew is on hand to ensure that this experience
will be one to savour.
Outer Reef Itinerary (Full Day)

Galaxy I’s Outer Reef Itinerary is an experience that will not be forgotten. Boarding early morning, Galaxy I cruises for approx 2 hours to a specially selected location on the outer ribbon reefs. Typically the visibility is clear, the marine life abundant and the coral amazing as you immerse yourself into this extraordinary natural wonder.
Lunch is served by Galaxy I’s on board chef, and guests are encouraged to relax and utilize the spacious decks and enjoy all that Galaxy I has to offer.
