BOOKING REQUESTS

  • Port Douglas Getaways reserves the right to accept or decline a Booking Request and will respond within 24 hours.
  • A Booking Request made through the Port Douglas Getaways website is not a confirmed booking until Port Douglas Getaways have accepted the request and a deposit paid.
  • The guest credit card provided will only be charged once the Booking Request has been accepted.

BOOKINGS/PAYMENTS

  • A minimum stay of 7 nights is required during peak season, which includes: June-October, school holidays, Easter & Christmas/New Year holiday periods.
  • Port Douglas Getaways charges a non-refundable administration fee of $100 per booking.
  • To secure your holiday booking, a payment of 25% deposit must be paid, along with a valid credit card number, to secure the property.
  • Payments can be made by Visa or MasterCard – A merchant fee of up to 1.6% will be charged for all credit card payments.
  • Or Direct Bank Deposit Transfer – no surcharge applies.
  • Please note a credit card will be required when paying by bank transfer, as security for your stay.
  • All monies are held in a fully audited Trust Account.
  • Please note that receipt of the deposit denotes acceptance of our Terms and Conditions.
  • Full payment is required 30 days prior to arrival. A reminder email will be sent when the remaining balance is required.
  • When bookings are made less than 30 days of arrival, full payment will be required at the time of booking.

CANCELLATION & AMENDMENT POLICY

  • Cancellations in writing by either party, 60 days prior to the commencement of the booking will be refunded in full – less our administration fee of $100 per booking.
  • Changing to another property or changing dates is not available.
  • For cancellations, less than 60 days prior to the commencement of the booking, the deposit will be forfeited unless the property can be relet for the entire period.
  • For cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the commencement of the booking, no refund will be available.
  • We highly recommend travel protection insurance with a reputable insurance company to cater for any unforeseen circumstances such as accidents or ill health.
  • In the instance of natural disasters, no refund will be provided should you elect to cancel your stay.
  • To effect a refund, cancellations must be in writing.
  • For bookings made on third-party websites, the cancellation policy will vary and will be clearly stated at the time of booking with that third-party site. Please check your booking confirmation for details.

 

COVID-19 – In response to the uncertainty surrounding travel restrictions and Government recommendations, we are committed to peace of mind when booking your holiday with us.  Until the situation changes, we are implementing the following COVID-19 policy:

  • If the Government closes the borders and you are unable to travel, we will allow you to amend your stay to another available period within 12 months of travel, at the same property.

COVID-19 COMMITMENT TO CLEANLINESS

We have implemented COVID-19 cleaning procedures and protocols to ensure that the highest standards for hygiene and cleanliness are taken seriously and to ensure your stay at your holiday accommodation is met by the latest guidelines.

Social distancing – while we prefer to meet and greet our guests on arrival, many of our properties, now have key lock boxes installed – Instructions for entry will be provided on final payment.

CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT

  • Check-in is available from 2 pm on the day of your arrival.

2 house keys + remote where needed are supplied on arrival.

Where applicable, the lock key box code is provided on receipt of arrival & departure details.

  • Check-out is at 10 am

On departure, the property should be vacated on time, keys/remotes left on the kitchen counter, and properly secured. A replacement charge of $50 for keys and $100 for the remote will be charged.

  • Additional cleaning charges will apply if the property is not left in a clean, tidy, and reasonable condition.
  • Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate early arrivals and late departures, the only way to absolutely guarantee early check-in or late check-out is to book an extra day.

GENERAL

  • Our properties are self-contained and include linen, bath & beach towels, full laundry facilities, hairdryer & BBQ
  • A complimentary midweek cleaning service is provided for all bookings of 10 nights and over, which will be conducted at 9.00 am unless otherwise notified. Extra services are available on request and will incur an additional service fee.
  • The number of people occupying the premises is not to exceed the number of people that beds are provided.  Please note, a selection of our properties can accommodate up to 2 extra guests (including infants) a nightly charge of $50 per person applies in addition to the bed hire costs. Please enquire with Port Douglas Getaways before booking.
  • Due to local health regulations and our agreement with our owners, pets are not permitted at our holiday rental properties.

POOLS

Pools are fenced and comply with Queensland Government regulations.

Every effort has been made to ensure the safety of the pool and surrounding areas. Guests use the pool at their own risk.

HEATED POOLS

Please be aware that climatic conditions, such as cool evenings may affect the pool heater’s ability to reach optimum temperature. Where properties are advertised with a heated pool, to the best of our abilities we will ensure that the pool is at least 26 degrees Celsius (due to council restrictions, pool heaters can only be operated during daytime hours.)

PERSONAL ITEMS

  • Port Douglas Getaways, nor the owner accepts responsibility for any personal items left on the premises during your stay or after departure.

GUESTS OBLIGATIONS

  • The premises are rented for holiday purposes only for the period stated on the confirmation.
  • PARTIES & FUNCTIONS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE PREMISES & STRICTLY PROHIBITED – if it is found that you have breached this agreement a non-negotiable charge of $2000 will apply.
  • Show consideration for your neighbours and maintain noise to a reasonable level – in particular, between 10 pm and 8 am. Excessive noise is prohibited and may result in eviction without a refund.
  • Dispose of garbage and recycling in accordance with the usual practice at the property and in the allocated bins.
  • Ensure that the property is always secure and locked, when not in the house.
  • Smoking is not permitted in our properties.

MAINTENANCE

  • Whilst every effort is made to have everything in full working order for your stay, unforeseen issues can sometimes arise, such as air-conditioners breaking down or appliances becoming faulty. In the event of something not working, please notify Port Douglas Getaways as soon as practicable, so we can resolve the issue as quickly as possible. As we do not live in a metro area, it can sometimes be difficult getting a tradesperson to attend immediately or on the weekend. Your patience is appreciated.
  • We will endeavour to contact you by mobile or home telephone for access and reserve the right to enter the property to repair any fault, should you be uncontactable.
  • Unless a situation is dangerous, no refund will be given for unforeseen faults.

BREAKAGES/DAMAGE

  • As security for your stay Port Douglas Getaways will require a valid credit card (MasterCard or Visa) on file.
  • Breakages and/or damage not caused by normal wear and tear will be billed to your account upon departure. Please note that it is not our intention to charge for the replacement of a broken glass.
  • Please do not use skin/hair products that bleach or stain linen. If you have stained our linen, please let us know, as, with the appropriate knowledge, we may be able to treat linen to remove stains.

TELEPHONE & INTERNET

Most properties have telephone and/or internet available – Please check with our office prior to booking.

  • The phone may be used during your stay. All calls to fixed lines or mobiles within Australia are free of charge.
  • Where a property does have Wi-Fi available, there may be a download limit on the connection. We ask that you limit your download or streaming usage, as additional charges may apply for excess usage.

 To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no case shall Port Douglas Getaways, nor its directors, employees, or owners be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential damages or for any damages for death, personal or bodily injury, emotional distress or damage to property, arising out of or in connection with your stay. This limitation applies to all claims for damages including negligence even if Port Douglas Getaways has been advised of the possibility of such.
