Party in Paradise at Port Douglas Carnivale! 25 - 27 May 2018

At 5pm on Friday, 25 May our party in paradise will officially kick off as a colourful, vibrant parade makes its way down the main street of town. The streets will be lined with revellers and the bars and restaurants brimming, with many toasting to the weekend of celebrations that lay ahead.

Although, if we were going to be pedantic it’s at The Longest Lunch, held from 11.30am the same day, that the first clink of glasses – under the palm trees of Rex Smeal Park – takes place.

So what to expect from Carnivale? Think live music, a street parade, amusement rides, plenty of raucous entertainment, and a sumptuous seafood extravaganza – showcasing fresh, local produce. There’s also a family beach day with face painting, a sand-sculpting competition, and kite-flying that starts from 10am on the Saturday.

With this packed line up, it’s no wonder many of our guests keep returning, year after year, to experience everything they possibly can at Carnivale. Read on to find out what’s on offer and then perhaps consider a week-long stay towards the end of May, when rates are favourable and the tropical weather beckons while the chill sets in down south!
